GRAM
GRAM is TON's native cryptocurrency, used to pay transaction fees and run smart contracts.
It was previously known as Toncoin, but Telegram and the TON community proposed reviving its original name. Following a vote held from June 1–8, 2026, the coin was renamed GRAM.
The rebrand took effect on June 15, 2026, and only affected the name, ticker, and logo. You can find more details about the process and voting results on TON's official Telegram channel: https://t.me/toncoin
Network fee
TON's official documentation explains the network fee with the following formula:
TransactionFee = StorageFees + InFwdFees + ComputationFees + ActionFees + OutFwdFees
- storage_fees — the fee for storing a smart contract on the blockchain, charged when a transaction is sent or received.
- in_fwd_fees — the fee for delivering incoming external messages.
- computation_fees — the fee for executing code on the blockchain's virtual machine (TVM).
- action_fees — the fee for processing a smart contract's actions.
- out_fwd_fees — the fee for importing outgoing internal messages.
The network fee on TON is paid in GRAM. However, W5-standard TON wallets support gasless transactions, which let you pay the fee using the balance of the token you're sending, instead of GRAM. Not all tokens support gasless transactions, for more details, check here.
You can also pay the TON network fee using the Battery in Keeper. This feature lets you send and swap tokens on TON using charges, which can be purchased in a few different ways.
Wallet standards
Every wallet on the TON blockchain is a smart contract, and as the network has evolved, smart contracts have needed to adapt to new requirements. That's why there are several wallet standards — from V1 through V5 (W5). You can learn more about each standard in TON's official documentation.
All new wallets in Keeper are created using the current W5 standard. The mobile app also supports the V4R2 version (Settings → Wallet V4R2). To access wallets from earlier versions, you can use the desktop or web version of Keeper, by going to Settings → Active Address.
