Why did Tonkeeper become Keeper?

Why did we rebrand?

Keeper started out as TON's native wallet, originally called Tonkeeper. But as our audience grew, so did the need to support assets across different networks. That's why we decided to expand beyond TON and TRON and give the wallet a new name. We still support the TON network and remain your trusted keeper. 🙌🏻

What happens to my TON wallet?

You can keep using your wallet exactly as before — we haven't stopped supporting TON.

Wallets you've already created aren't going anywhere. If you want to access a TON wallet you created earlier, you can easily do so through the "add an existing wallet" option.

How do I turn my TON wallet into a multichain wallet?

You can create a multichain wallet by choosing 'New Wallet' or by importing an existing wallet from another app (Trust Wallet, MetaMask, etc.).

You can't directly turn an existing TON wallet with a 24-word recovery phrase into a multichain wallet. This is because TON and multichain wallets use different derivation paths — the methods used to generate addresses and keys from a recovery phrase.

📌 Important: Since multichain wallets also support the TON network, we've added a migration flow that transfers assets from your old TON wallet to your new multichain wallet. You can read more about it here.
